Responsible for providing maintenance, service, and repair for commercial cooking equipment (i.e., grills, fryers, ovens) throughout the resort. Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains all equipment in good repair with a minimum of downtime by providing day-to-day maintenance of the hotel F&B outlets.
  • Performs diagnoses, troubleshoots, and repair kitchen equipment.
  • Communicates repair updates to senior management.
  • Conducts routine audits on equipment and develops an action plan to address in a timely manner.
  • Supports and improves engineering services that effectively address problems affecting both guests and associates.
  • Serves as a lead upon request in the absence of the manager.
  • Strives to become an independent mechanic, analyzes problems, and formulates plans to get work done quickly with a high degree of quality. Following company standards and Fire Safety procedures.
  • Assist in training and instructing junior team members by passing along your knowledge and skills.
  • Supports projects, repairs, and maintains equipment by effectively coordinating and planning with other affected departments as needed. All methods, materials, and practices must meet and be in accordance with local codes, company specifications, national codes, and standard practices.
  • Keep accurate completion and task records in the project files. Materials procurement and coordination of their availability are also critical to the success of your position.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs all electrical, plumbing, kitchen equipment, and building problems throughout the resort's F&B outlets.
  • Assess gas systems and complete all necessary preventative repairs following related safety procedures.
  • Responsible for entering all work orders via the company workflow management system ie. HotSos.
  • Checks for new maintenance requests regularly and update comments in the property management system promptly.
  • Ensures all equipment is properly functioning within the resort and that all malfunctions are reported to the supervisor in a short period of time
  • Performs other reasonable related duties requested by management.

Required Qualifications:

EDUCATION
  • Minimum High school diploma or equivalent vocational training
  • Vocational Training/Certificate in a related technical field

EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of three years of experience in commercial kitchen repair
  • Working knowledge and experience with Food & Beverage equipment including dish machines, pastry equipment, ovens, and fryers both gas and electric
  • Minimum 1-year formal training in Electrical systems; two years formal work experience

TECHNICAL
  • Electrical installation and mechanical background
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite and Outlook
  • Ability to write routine reports, keep logs, and correspondence
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, safety awareness information, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to lift over 25lbs

SOFT SKILL
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to build relationships internally and externally with vendors
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team of skilled electrical tradesmen
  • Efficiently organize and plan work tasks to meet company goals.
