Investment Advisor

The Investment Advisor is part of a team of investment and private banking professionals within CIBC FCIB Private Wealth Management (PWM) team and has responsibility for effectively managing and growing a portfolio of investment products, which increases the overall profit contribution to PWM.

About success

• Contributes to the CIBC PWM, high net worth (HNW) business by sourcing and originating high quality business opportunities and building a portfolio of HNW clients along with other appropriate HNW advisory offers.

• Provides an excellent consultancy-based approach at all client touch points in areas of investment, credit, banking solutions and wealth advisory services.

• Reviews clients’ portfolios and financial needs from a holistic perspective and identifies opportunities to broaden clients’ suites of products and services, by meeting regularly with clients to conduct portfolio reviews and introduce new product and service solutions.

• Through business development activities, acquires new clients who have sophisticated financial needs, are people of influence or who require complex global financial solutions.

• Responsible for bringing all of the appropriate PWM advisory offers Private Banking, Trust, Wealth Advisory and Investments.

About you

• Degree in Finance / Accounting / Business / Economics / Professional qualification – Associate of Chartered Institute of Bankers or equivalent. Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA Charterholder); Financial Risk Manager (FRM) designations are an asset.

• At least five years’ banking experience at management level.

• Prior experience as a frontline Corporate / Investment Banking lender, and preferably experience as an adjudicator.

• Previous senior team management expertise.

• Through experience, gained detailed understanding of segment specific risk and the risk management procedures for the Corporate Market, Capital markets, Sovereign, Financial sectors and country risk exposure.

• Experience in formulating policies, procedures, and strategies.

• A skilled communicator - able to communicate decisions in a manner to clearly and satisfactory convey reasoned point of view whilst achieving buy in, where possible, of partners (submitter).
