The IT Professional is responsible for performing Network administration, the proper functioning of proprietary systems and for assisting all end users with any IT-related issues. The successful candidate will also be required to have a solid understanding of the Windows server environment.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Performs Network administration, including but not limited to backup and restoration, security management, user account management, email systems including email web servers, internet access, office systems and applications support.
  • Completes maintenance and troubleshooting of the telephone infrastructure, LAN and WAN infrastructure, server and desktop hardware, security camera systems, software and applications.
  • Deploys hardware and software as required, including but not limited to installation, configuration, integration of new system hardware and all relevant software, security patches, hot fixes and software updates.
  • Performs technology needs analysis, including but not limited to planning, implementing and supporting the expansion of network infrastructure.
  • Ensures IT procedures and Network security is maintained and adhered to at all levels of the company.
  • Ensures documentation on IT procedures, systems and equipment is maintained.
  • Ensures all system backups are maintained on schedule.
  • Monitors Network performance.
  • Resolve IT-related issues reported by end users, including but not limited to performing site visits to stores when required. Escalates end user issues to remote support if unable to resolve.
  • Manages and tracks the IT inventory at all levels of the company.
  • Maintains database security, integrity and backup procedures, with the aid of remote support.
  • Manages the Hyper-V system.
  • Maintains and updates the company’s website as required.
  • Provides support to members of social media team as required.
  • Functions as the primary point of contact for IT-related issues when external support is required.
  • Updates Upper management daily and as required on the status of ongoing and completed duties.

Job Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or a degree in any IT-related field is required.
  2. At least one (1) year of Networking experience or experience in a similar IT-related field is required.
  3. A working knowledge of these technologies is required; different Windows Operating Systems i.e., Windows 7-10, Windows Server 2008 – 2019, Microsoft Office, Windows Active Directory, Firewalls, Switches, Routers and other network devices.
  4. A+ certification or Network + certification is preferred.
  5. Knowledge of NCR Counterpoint or another ERP/IM software, Peachtree, Micropay, WordPress Web Development is preferred.
  6. Knowledge of SQL and database administration is desired.
  7. Knowledge of graphic design is desired.
  8. Must be able to provide after-hours support and be able to work on public holidays and weekends as the need arises.
