IT professional is responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware and software, managing network servers, and ensuring all systems are up-to-date and operating smoothly.

 

Role Specific: 

  • Oversee and execute the installation, testing, commissioning/decommissioning of computer hardware and software in accordance with agreed standards, quality, and safety plans. 
  • Oversee and execute  the operations and maintenance of the company’s IT infrastructure, network and connectivity infrastructure and security systems in accordance with agreed standards, quality, and safety plans. 
  • Learn and maintain in-depth knowledge of specific technical specialisms including computer hardware, operating systems, computer networking, communications infrastructure, and related products. 
  • Manage security risk and vulnerability assessments of IT systems, computer networks, communications, and related infrastructure, and applies appropriate technical security controls. 
  • Focus on cyber security specialisms including intrusion detection and prevention, security management, cyber awareness, vulnerability assessment and identity management. 
  • Investigates security breaches in accordance with established procedures and recommends the required corrective actions and assists users with the management of their security accesses and controls. 
  • Furthers and Monitors  the IT infrastructure, networking, connectivity, and security posture of the company, such as reducing costs and improving performance, by the approved and specified use of emerging technologies and products. 
  • Monitors the IT infrastructure for achievement of agreed performance targets and service levels; documents and implements the arrangements for disaster recovery and conduct regular testing of the recovery procedures. 
  • Provides inputs to the service continuity planning process and implements the approved plans so that the defined levels of continuity for the company’s IT infrastructure and networks and related infrastructure are achieved. 
  • Assists with the project management of the company’s IT infrastructure, networking and connectivity, security systems projects, including identifying and mitigating project risk, ensuring quality in project delivery, and utilizing assigned resources efficiently. 
  • Prepares and delivers learning activities, such as training, to a variety of audiences in areas of technical specialization and responsibility. 
  • Supports the Manager in the production of IT internal documentation, network, and connectivity designs, polices, strategies, architectures, and specifications for the overall infrastructure to support the business requirements and strategy of the company. 
  • Assists with the support and maintenance of information systems, including the identification and mitigation of project risk, and monitoring of projects. 
  • Identifies and resolves issues with software applications on premise and in the cloud, by implementing agreed solutions and preventative measures. 
  • Receives and handles service desk and incident management request for all IT related support following agreed procedures and maintains relevant records and inventory. 
  • Business Intelligence: Contribute to and utilise business intelligence applications for more informed decision making and providing periodic reports/ status updates as needed. 
  • Focused execution aligned to company’s strategic goals: Develop and track progress on clearly defined operational objectives with measurable key results, related to all IT related projects/programmes. 
  • Provide Exceptional Customer service to all stakeholders at all times

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE OF: 

  • Defined components of IT and server infrastructure. 
  • Defined components of network and connectivity infrastructure. 
  • Security for software applications, computer networks and IT infrastructure. 
  • Tools and techniques required for the management and control of IT within a large business organization. 
  • Software maintenance and enhancements of both on premise and cloud implementations. 
  • Project management skills will be an asset 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Training as evidenced by the possession of a recognized Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems Management, Computer Engineering, or a related area. 
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert such as MCSE Core Infrastructure and Productivity (MS365). 
  • CISCO Certified such as CCNA or CCNP. 
  • Certification in IT security management such as CISSP. 
  • PMP certification would be considered an asset. 

EXPERIENCE: 

  • Minimum ten (10) years’ experience performing at the responsible professional/technical level. Including 
  • Minimum eight (8) years' experience in the operations and maintenance of IT systems. 
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in the development, implementation, management and operation of networks, messaging, and communications infrastructure. 
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in securing IT systems, networks, and applications. 
  • Or a Combination of Skill, Training and Experiance that allows you to be effective in this role
