Door and Elevator Handler

The Door & Elevator Handler is responsible for coordinating door access for guest entering and leaving buildings and providing direct operation of control for elevator and assisting guest with entering and leaving, ensuring cleanliness of entrance area and communicating with front and back of house

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Always greets guest with a smile when opening front door entrance or when they are leaving the resort
• Maintains a stationary position at the front door
• Attends meetings, training sessions and other company activities as scheduled.
• Receives information from managers and persons working the prior shift regarding any important functions taking place during your shift.
• Approaches and speaks to the guest first, in a friendly manner, and offers assistance.
• Reports to work punctually, well groomed in proper uniform and ready for duty.
• Communicates with manager and coordinates entire station to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Assists in the collection, securing and distribution of Umbrella/parasol to hotel guest.
• Stays on assigned station throughout service observing and seeing to guest needs.
• Greets all guests in a warm and friendly manner by extending a warm welcome upon arrival to the resort and provide a gracious farewell when they are departing.
• Maintains a professional (post-up) demeanor at all times.
• Maintains the cleanliness of the walkway to entrance, foyer, elevator floor and stairways.
• Remains alert and ready to assist all guests that enter and leave the resort.
• Directs guest by indicating access to the elevator and performs the function of operating the door and controls of the elevator.
• Advises manager of all guest complaints.
• Offers accurate information to guests requiring assistance regarding property and amenities offered.
• Performs other reasonable duties that may be required from time to time.

• High school diploma or equivalent vocational training
• Ability to work flexible hours in a 24 hour environment
• Pleasant and engaging personality, a natural smiler
• Strong communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Must be able to stand stationary for extended periods of time.
