Job Summary / Primary Role Objective:

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will lead the organization’s financial planning, financial reporting, budgeting, accounting, treasury, external borrowing and asset liability management, in all aspects of operations; while collaborating with the Group Chief Financial Officer to establish long-term goals and, strategies and plans in alignment with the Parent Company; and working closely with the leadership team to drive financial performance and optimize resource mobilization strategies.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Financial Management:

  • Manage the company’s financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting and auditing 
  • Ensure that the financial policies, procedures and transactions meet the organizations short and long-term business objectives, and are conducted in accordance with regulations, and established accounting principles and standards 
  • Ensure internal controls governing financial transactions, financial reporting and systems are properly designed and functioning effectively 

 

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and implement the financial strategy of the company, including long-term financial planning, risk management and investments strategies 

 

Financial Reporting:

  • Oversee the preparation and communication of monthly and annual financial statements 
  • Ensure timely reporting of key financial data and updates to the Chief Executive Officer, Board of Directors, Regulators and other key stakeholders 
  • Manage the audit process and work closely with the Group Chief Finance Officer and Financial Accountant to ensure the timely delivery of the company’s consolidated financial results.  

 

Compliance:

  • Ensure maintenance of statutory and strategic capital requirements 
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions. This includes tax planning and compliance with local tax regulations 

  

Leadership:

  • Direct the Finance and accounting team and ensure their ongoing professional development and training 
  • Manage the organization’s stock brokerage operations ensuring compliance with the guidelines of the Financial Services Commission 
  • Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team 
  • Represent and deputize for the Chief Executive Officer when required 
  • Other critical roles / responsibilities that may develop with corporate strategy 

 

Requirements

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting or a related discipline.
  • Professional finance or accounting designation (ACCA / FCCA / CPA / CFA).
  • Proven experience as a CFO or in a senior financial leadership role within experience working at the executive level with Boards, Finance & Audit Committee and regulators. (10 years’ minimum finance experience with 5 years’ minimum in a senior leadership role.)

  • Excellent strategic thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles and financial management.
