Career Opportunity - Chief Executive Officer
Role Summary
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for setting and executing the organisation’s strategy. He/she is required to manage the day-to-day functions of the organisation and to ensure that that the organisation achieves its goals.
Summary of duties and responsibilities
Subject to the supervision and pursuant to the advice and direction of the Board of Directors, the CEO will report to the President and carry out the following duties as Chief Executive Officer:
- Provide strong leadership and manage (including mentoring and developing) employees of BARP as well as Volunteers.
- Manage all aspects of the arrangements of the AGM to ensure a successful and well executed meeting.
- Facilitate and coordinate the activities of BARP’s Volunteer Committees and wider community working in collaboration with the President and Board.
- Provide support to the Board of Directors in the execution of BARP’s business strategy and plans, prepare reports for presentation to the Board and ensure that Board decisions are implemented.
- In collaboration with the President, designate individuals to represent BARP, on Government and Non-Governmental committees and required, representing BARP’s interests in matters affecting BARP.
- Build strong and beneficial relationships with stakeholders of BARP, including but not limited to, responding to requests from presentations about BARP and its programmes.
- Keep abreast of Governmental policies and initiatives that impact the over-40s community.
- Oversee the marketing and promotion of BARP as the choice of the 40-plus in Barbados.
- Manage all financial and compliance matters.
- Coordinate fund raising activities with Volunteer Committees and the Board.
- Any other related duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Education, experience, and skills requirements
- Bachelor’s degree along with at least ten years’ experience.
- MSc in Business Management or MBA would be an asset.
- Competent in the use of Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, and Power-Point.
- Competent in the use of CRM Programs.
- An effective communicator.
- Ability to inspire and empower.
- Experience managing an NGO will be an asset but not required.
