BAT GUYANA IS LOOKING FOR A CORPORATE FINANCE BUSINESS PARTNER

SENIORITY LEVEL: Junior Level

FUNCTION: Finance

LOCATION: Demerara Mahaica, Guyana

ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES

This role is part of    Finance - Corporate Finance.

Reports to:  Finance Manager

Reporting Level:  Mid-Senior Level

Geographic Scope: Local

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

• Supervises and co-ordinates the finance analysts (payables & reporting) in BAU functions.
• Monthly review of accounting journals, General Ledger reconciliation and bank reconciliations.
• Manages working capital/net trading assets, and costs to improve profit performance and manageable cashflow.
• Review of Auxiliary report and capitalization of all assets.
• Assist in the preparation of quarterly financial packages to Audit Committee and Board of Directors.  
• Contributes to the development of the annual Company Plan, co-ordinates its preparation, and supervises completion of the Co-Plan in line with BAT guidelines.
• Respond to internal and external audit queries and provide necessary explanations and documents requested to perform audits.

• Supports Finance Director in drafting half-year and year-end published financial statements - Financial Statements (Balance sheet, Income Statement and Cash flow statement) (external reporting) and all relevant notes to shareholder in line with all BAT reporting, international accounting policies, statutory, stock exchange and audit requirements (internal and external).

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Chartered Accountant or a University graduate with a major in Finance or Accounting
• At least 3 years experience in a Finance Position.
• Experience managing staff
• Understands local business regulations.
• Computer literate and knowledge of financial IT systems
• Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
• Effective coaching and team building skills.
• Analytical ability
• Ability to coordinate activities to allow for efficiency and effectiveness.
• Ability to analyze, identify gaps and propose solutions.
