The Accounts Reconciliation Clerk will be responsible for comparing different sets of data and identifying and errors, inconsistencies, or missing information in support of the Accountant and the Accounting department.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Comply with all policies and procedures and maintain all files on SharePoint software in the designated chronological order.
  • Maintains one (2) TT and one (1) US Scotia account and two (3) TT accounts and one (1) US Scotia account at RBL.
  • Prepare Bank Reconciliations by the end of each month's first five (5) work days.
  • Ensures that General Ledger sub-ledger accounts such as accounts payable and receivables are reconciled with supporting documentation
  • Performs a daily reconciliation between the employees and the JP Index list, and reports any discrepancies or anomalies to the Manager of Service Support.  
  • Prepares Driver Reconciliations Analysis weekly.
  • Identify and resolve any discrepancies or errors found during the reconciliation process.
  • Posts approved & authorized journal adjustments to the accounting system based on the results of the reconciliation process.  
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date documentation of reconciliations for audit purposes.
  • Verifies that all cash, credit card, and online transfer deposits made and recorded in the Company’s Application are also recorded in the deposit register. 
  • Matches these transactions against the bank statements to ensure accuracy. 
  • Documents processes for review and as an audit trail for bank reconciliations to verify transactions
  • Verifies that all payments recorded in the Payment register match and clear the bank accounts, documenting the same. 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of one year in a similar role or previous experience in an accounting department
  • 5 CXC passes inclusive of Mathematics, Principles of Accounts and Information Technology preferred
  • Competency in MS Office, databases and accounting software. 
  • Professional certification such as ACCA or CAT is advantageous but not required
