Responsible for management of Air Condition/Refrigeration Engineers assigned on a shift. Addresses all service calls during the shift (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning). Conducts routine inspections on equipment. Ensures resolutions to all emergencies that arise. Provides a report on items

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Keeps all equipment in good repair with a minimum of downtime by providing day to day maintenance of the hotel under the direction of Engineering Management. Ensures a complete understanding of and adheres to the company's fire and safety procedures.
  • Continually supports and improves engineering services that effectively address problems affecting both guests and associates.
  • Trains and instructs other members of the staff by passing along knowledge and skills to assist them in their development and the advancement of your own.
  • Strives to become an independent mechanic, analyzes problems and formulates plans to get work done quickly with a high degree of quality. Ensures that Engineering and the work area are kept clean at all times.
  • Responsible for the day to day operations and repairs of plumbing systems throughout the property.
  • Have a good understanding of the refrigeration cycle. Be able to troubleshoot equipment professionally to assertion the problem and correct the same.
  • Evacuates the system and change components including the compressor. Be able to close everything up and pull a vacuum and charge the unit.
  • Maintains all walk-in coolers, freezers, and fridges throughout the property. Maintains all ice machines through the property. Maintain communications with Supervisors to ensure that all needed materials, tools and supplies are available or on order. Follows up on any items that may be back ordered.
  • Perform other reasonable duties that may be requested from time to time.
  • The Company operates a twenty-four (24) hour business. Therefore, you will be rostered to work shifts, which may change from time to time.
  • Displays the highest standards of customer service at all times, welcoming customers in a polite, gracious and enthusiastic manner; paying attention at all times; anticipating and meeting their needs.
  • Responds quickly and positively to guests' questions, requests, problems, and complaints and resolves them effectively and consistently.
  • Maintains overall knowledge of the resort and provide proactive assistance to customers when appropriate using clear and concise conversation.
  • Always smiles and engages our guests first, using their name when appropriate and maintaining eye contact at all times.
  • Demonstrates departmental knowledge and efficiency at all times.
  • Stays well groomed, looking professional, clean and appropriately fitted in compliance with the company's standards.
  • Follow and enforce health, welfare, and safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for all guests and fellow team members.
  • Ensure your workspace is cleaned and sanitized as directed by the Company. ( These processes may change from time to time based on seasonality or recommendations from our Health and Safety Department.)
  • Practice good hygiene prior to reporting to work and when returning to your assigned workstation. This includes, but is not limited to: washing your hands, avoid touching your face, limiting unnecessary physical contact with others, coughing/sneezing into a tissue or the inside of your elbow, and disinfecting frequently used items and surfaces in your work area as directed by Management using company provided cleaning products.
  • Wear company issued Personal Protective Equipment such as masks or gloves from time to time as directed by the Company.

Requirements:
  • Minimum High school diploma or equivalent vocational training
  • Ability to write routine reports, keep logs, and correspondence
  • Minimum 1 year formal training in Air Conditioning; two years formal work experience
  • Basic skills in the following areas - Heating systems, ventilation systems, air conditioning systems, chiller / boiler controls, safeties, expansion tanks and make up systems, cooling towers, supply fans, fan coil units, and condenser loops
