Health, Safety & Environment Specialist
This role is responsible for partnering with the business to drive success by supporting the implementation, mentoring, and ongoing reinforcement of a health, safety, environment, and employee wellbeing focused culture, fostering its organic growth throughout the organisation.
The successful candidate will work closely with managers, supervisors, and employees to implement, maintain, monitor, and train others on processes, empowering stakeholders to take ownership of HSE activities.
Key Activities Include:
- Understand the functionality of the HSE system to support business ownership.
- Assist the business in understanding and meeting all HSE KPIs.
- Support incident investigations and guiding teams in identifying effective, permanent corrective actions.
- Provide management with required HSE performance reporting.
- Support the delivery and implementation of HSE training programs.
- Maintain reports or documents that may be required to meet corporate or regulatory requirements, including monitoring application of HSE standards and goals.
- Provide input to simple surveys, audits, evaluations, inspections, and investigations of incidents and activities to monitor and track HSE standards, programs and goals including project environmental data collection and documentation.
- Support the implementation and learning of the online safety management system and associated modules, such as compliance, risk, incident, contractor management, operational daily activities, policies, procedures, audits, risk assessments, and training.

Key Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental, safety, engineering, or related field, along with Incident Investigation and Lead Auditor training.
- 3+ years of relevant HSE experience in operational or industrial environments. Supervisory experience is desirable.
- Strong understanding of holistic OHS management systems and their operational implementation.
- Strong competencies in planning, problem identification, compliance management, teamwork, negotiation, and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant HSE or environmental software tools.
- Ability to interpret and apply key HSE policies and procedures (e.g., hazard reporting, risk management, contractor management, injury management).
