JOB TITLE: Training Officer
SALARY: $8500.00
LOCATION: Cunupia
REPORTS TO: Training Manager
RESPONSIBLE TO: Training Manager, EER Division Manager
PURPOSE OF JOB: The Training Officer is responsible for conducting the Training Campus various training programs other essentials functions.
Essential Functions
- Conduct training on each training program at the Training Campus and onsite at customers location when required
- Travel within CARICOM and conduct training programs when required.
- Demonstrate mechanical aptitudes in safe and effective operation of all equipment, including firefighting equipment, confined space, gas detection, breathing air and working at heights.
- Ensure all training equipment and building safety systems are maintained and service with up-to-date records.
- Read and understand technical material, rules, regulations, standards and procedures for all training programs.
- Perform heavy lifting and physical maneuvering.
- Ensure maintenance and upkeep Training Campus, training grounds and training props
- Ensure all equipment and building is secured at the end of the day.
- Understand and follow oral and written directions promptly and accurately
- Any other related duties as required by the job function.
HSE Responsibilities Employees must:

- Report all accidents, incidents and near misses immediately to their supervisor/Team Lead or soon as they reasonably can.
- Cooperate with Management and Supervisors/Team Lead on positive HSE performance and any incident investigations.
- Work safely to not negatively affect oneself, others and the environment.
- Correctly and safely use work equipment as designed with all safety features.
- Ensure that they are not under the influence of intoxicating substances, including marijuana and alcohol during working hours, while on Company or client premises, or while conducting business on the Company’s behalf.
- Be empowered to and responsible for ‘stopping work’ that is unsafe and report to their direct Supervisor/Team Lead/Manager.
Required Education- BSc or Diploma certification in Occupational Safety, Health and Environmental
- Proficient in office applications (PPT, word, excel)
- Background knowledge and certification in Health & Safety Codes and Standards
- Train-the Trainer certification
Required Experience- 1-3 years experience as a trainer, training facilitator or similar role experience in using and handling of Fire & Safety equipment.
- Principles, practices and procedures on the use of firefighting equipment.
Other Note: An acceptable combination of academic qualifications and work experience may be considered in lieu of minimum requirements.
