At Barbados Beach Club, we take pride in offering guests exceptional dining experiences that reflect the warmth and flavour of the Caribbean. Our kitchen team plays a vital role in delivering this promise. We are seeking enthusiastic Cooks and Kitchen Porters to join our culinary family.
Both positions contribute to the smooth running of our kitchen, ensuring high standards of food quality, cleanliness, and teamwork.
Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
Assist in the development and preparation of daily specials and buffet items.
Maintain portion control and minimize waste.
Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with health and safety standards.
Keep workstations clean, organized, and properly stocked.
Assist with receiving and storing food deliveries.
Work collaboratively with the culinary team to meet service demands and maintain guest satisfaction.
Support kitchen operations by maintaining cleanliness and order in all kitchen areas.
Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment.
Assist with basic food preparation as directed by chefs (e.g., peeling, chopping, or portioning ingredients).
Ensure waste is disposed of properly and recycling standards are followed.
Clean floors, surfaces, and storage areas in accordance with hygiene standards.
Assist with unloading and storing deliveries.
Provide general support to chefs and cooks during busy service periods.
Previous experience in a hotel or restaurant kitchen is an asset (training provided for entry-level roles).
Knowledge of safe food handling and hygiene practices.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Fast-paced resort kitchen environment.
Standing for extended periods and handling hot equipment or sharp tools.
Team-oriented, supportive culture with opportunities for growth within the Food & Beverage department.
