Purpose of the Role
The Construction Manager is responsible for the overall planning, execution, and completion of construction projects on-site. This role ensures that all construction activities are carried out safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with design specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all site construction activities to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to project plans.
- Develop and implement daily and weekly work schedules, allocating resources, manpower, and equipment effectively.
- Oversee subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel, ensuring compliance with project specifications and performance standards.
- Monitor construction progress, evaluate risks, and proactively address delays or site conflicts.
- Ensure full compliance with HSE regulations, conduct toolbox talks, and enforce safe working practices.
- Review and interpret drawings, engineering plans, contracts, and method statements.
- Coordinate inspections, quality control checks, and ensure workmanship meets required standards.
- Prepare and submit site reports, progress updates, material usage, and incident documentation.
- Liaise with clients, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely decision-making and project flow.
- Oversee site logistics, including material deliveries, storage, waste management, and site security.
- •Lead by example to maintain a disciplined and safety-conscious site culture.
- Conduct regular site safety inspections, ensure PPE compliance, and immediately record and report any accidents, incidents, or near misses.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 7–10 years' experience in construction site management or supervision.
- Proven experience successfully delivering medium to large-scale construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, regulations, building codes, and safety standards.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical plans, BOQs, and construction documentation.
- Excellent leadership, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong communication and reporting abilities.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites.
- Certification in Project Management or HSE would be an advantage.
