SENIOR FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT

The Senior Financial Accountant will be expected to embrace the organization’s core values, vision, and strategic objectives while inspiring both direct and indirect reports to deliver strong results. Reporting to the executive responsible for Finance, the incumbent will provide leadership and oversight for three core teams within the Finance Department, ensuring alignment with established policies and the achievement of operational efficiency.
The successful candidate will ensure strong internal controls, accurate financial reporting, effective supervision of accounting teams, and compliance with statutory and corporate requirements. This role also supports strategic planning through the preparation of timely management accounts, budgeting and forecasting, cash flow management, and oversight of some key accounting functions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
1. Lead key accounting teams by planning, directing, and coordinating operational activities in accordance with established accounting standards.
2. Collaborate with the executive responsible for Finance and other leaders to develop and execute strategies aligned with the company’s strategic plan.
3. Prepare financial statements for external reporting, including regulatory and tax filings.
4. Prepare monthly management reports reflecting company performance, including the Profit and Loss Statement and Balance Sheet.
5. Ensure internal financial control policies and procedures are established, maintained, and updated periodically to meet evolving business needs.
6. Review and update accounting processes and procedures to reflect current standards and ensure the team is adequately trained to maintain accurate accounting records at all times.
7. Monitor cash flow to ensure adequate funds are available to support the company’s operations.
8. Foster a supportive work environment by ensuring individual development plans are in place to address capability gaps, support career growth, and strengthen employee engagement.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or an equivalent qualification
2. ACCA or CPA designation
3. Minimum of five years’ experience in a similar leadership role
4. Demonstrated knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and International Financial Reporting Standards
5. Working knowledge of manufacturing accounting principles
6. Strong people management skills
7. Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, communication, and leadership skills
8. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
9. Strong business acumen
10. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications
11. Experience in a manufacturing environment would be an advantage
