Senior Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior I&C Engineer to provide specialist engineering expertise for projects, operations, maintenance, and turnarounds in a dynamic process plant environment.

This role involves troubleshooting complex control systems, leading engineering reviews, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead engineering activities across projects and operations, ensuring compliance with standards.
• Troubleshoot and configure control systems (PLC, DCS, SIS, SCADA) and instrumentation.
• Develop and maintain loop diagrams, cause & effect diagrams, and instrumentation databases.
• Manage resources, budgets, and timelines for projects and shutdowns.
• Drive root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with HSEQ, ISO, and cybersecurity requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians.

Qualifications

• BSc in Electrical and Computer Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in Petrochemical or Oil & Gas industries, with 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Professional engineering membership and PMP certification are assets.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of process plant design, operations, and project management.
• Expertise in industry standards (IEC 61511, IEC 62682, IEC 62443).
• Advanced troubleshooting in DCS, PLC, SCADA, SIS systems; PID tuning and loop optimization.
• Ability to implement ICS cybersecurity measures.
• Proficient in CMMS, MS Office, and engineering software; DeltaV experience is an asset.
• Knowledge of Process Safety Management, HAZOP, ISO systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Previous experience in methanol or similar petrochemical processes is an asset.
