Purchasing & Logistics Officer

The Purchasing & Logistics Officer is responsible for purchasing and brokerage functions, including coordinating shipments, preparing customs documentation, managing procurement, and ensuring compliance with Jamaican import/export regulations and AEO certification requirements.

Job Functions

1. Coordinate and track shipments for both locations to ensure timely delivery whilst ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements regarding imports and exports.
2. Prepare customs documentation and liaise with customs brokers and truckers.
3. Prepare costing sheets for shipments and arrange payment of shipments with the relevant agencies.
4. Maintain the company’s AEO certification status ensuring Jamica Customs Agency’s security requirements for container importation are met.
5. Create, maintain and make available all relevant documentation required for effective AEO administration.
6. Prepare statements for Goods in transit.
7. Manage the procurement process in keeping with established guidelines and accepted best practices.
8. Promptly handle requisitions to ensure stable supply and timely availability of materials, services and general items.

Experience & Qualifications & Key Competences

1. Diploma of Degree in Accounting or its Equivalent
2. Knowledge of customs regulations and requirements
3. Competency in MS office suites and Accounting Software
4. Knowledge of established accounting, bookkeeping and audit principles
5. Detail oriented with consistency and accuracy in completion of duties assigned
6. Good verbal and written communication skills
