Operations Safety Leader

We are looking for an experienced HSSE Operations Lead to provide strategic safety leadership for a major deepwater development project in Suriname (3-years contract).

This role will oversee health, safety, security, and environmental compliance across drilling and wells operations, ensuring adherence to corporate standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Champion HSSE culture and embed high standards across all operations.
• Coordinate site committee meetings and conduct regular visits to operational sites.
• Liaise with contractor management to ensure safe and compliant activities.
• Act as the primary HSSE focal point for drilling and wells operations.
• Oversee implementation of contingency plans (MEDEVAC, Blowout, Oil Spill) and SIMOPS dossier development.
• Monitor HSSE training compliance and manage digital reporting systems.
• Track and report HSSE KPIs, lead safety campaigns, and manage incident reporting.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum 15+ years’ experience in upstream oil & gas.
• 6–10 years in a senior HSSE leadership role, preferably in drilling and wells.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent plus HSSE certification.
• Strong digital skills (MS Office, Power BI, Polarion, Synergi or similar).
• English fluency required; French or other languages are an advantage.
• Must hold Offshore Medical Certificate and BOSIET CA-EBS + HUET.
