KPMG Jamaica Extended Support Services provides office extension support services to KPMG in the US and is seeking to hire a suitably qualified, competent, highly motivated, Officer - Web UI Design .

 Officer - Web UI Design

KPMG Jamaica Extended Support Services (JESS), seeks to identify a Officer - Web UI Design, to be responsible for working closely with the onshore KBS Central content owners to create and update webpages based on design direction.  The Web UI Design Officer also supports the Client’s stakeholder to execute multiple deliverables.  This position applies knowledge, independent judgment and firm policies to complete moderate to complex web design projects.  The KBS Web UI Design Officer performs work of a technical or analytical nature, requiring special skills, training and related experience.

The position will be assigned to our rapidly growing KPMG Jamaica Extended Support Services (JESS), which provides services to a major client in the United States.

 Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for complex activities associated with web design / web page updates and development.
  • Work closely with Client’s stakeholder and content owners to review / comprehend the scope of the project
  • Work with the onshore stakeholder to develop the project plan (e.g. milestones, timeline, resources, etc.) to meet the content owner(s) deliverable(s)
  • Develop pixel accurate pages from design mockup
  • Exercise independent judgment in creating and selecting ways to complete work assignments
  • Analyze and address issues by evaluating different alternatives within a wide variety of established procedures; decisions are subject to review by higher levels of onshore management
  • Develop cooperative and productive relationships and ability to respond and adapt to change quickly
  • Demonstrate and execute strong understanding of standards-based coding, browser compatibility issues, Web design constraints, and security protocols (HTTP vs. HTTPS)
  • Proactively communicate with onshore stakeholders and content owners to raise questions/clarifications and identify issues with deliverable and/or deadlines

  Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field from an accredited college or university required
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in web design and development
  • Proficient understanding of client-side scripting
  • Experience with ASP.Net, Web Services (WCF, Web API), GIT, and SQL a plus
  • Experience in interactive Web applications that utilize database components including the creation of interfaces to optimize workflow
  • Experience with Agile development using Jira for tracking stories, tasks, and defects
Technical
  • Strong understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and JS
  • Understanding of MVC with technologies as (AngularJS, ReactJS, or BackboneJS)
  • Experience with mobile first approach
  • Understanding OOO programming
  • Demonstrated understanding of standards-based coding, browser compatibility issues, Web design constraints, and security protocols (HTTP vs. HTTPS)
  • Advanced knowledge and use of office productivity tools (MS Office, etc.)
