Firm’s History

In April, 1981 the firm’s name was established by the late Oswald Homer F.C.A., C.A. as Homer & Co. Chartered Accountants. The firm was registered with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Trinidad and Tobago. In March 1983, Edward J. Nunes F.C.A, C.A. joined the firm. He had worked with PriceWaterhouse for about twenty eight years and came with tremendous experience, especially in the field of auditing, taxation advice and secretarial practice. Having pioneered the San Fernando office of the firm, he left to develop the practice at Homer & Co.

In the passing of Mr. Nunes, we have renamed the firm as Nunes Financial Limited in honour of him. The firm continues to practice with the knowledge and wisdom that was inherited over the many years.

Accounting & Systems Support

We prepare due diligence reports and provide in-house accounting services for businesses who wish to outsource their accounting department as well as assist in the training of staff for clients. Due to the experience gained in developing and advising on financial matters for the past twenty seven years, our firm can design and implement management information systems in a computer environment, thus providing our clients with timely information to improve their financial control.

Audit & Assurance

Our focus is the preparation of statutory audits on financial statements in accordance with International Accounting Standards and International Standards on Auditing adopted by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Trinidad and Tobago for a wide range of business enterprises. We also perform audits of inventory and stock.

Corporate Secretarial

Our secretarial department has had from inception the capability of incorporation and registering private companies, conducting annual general meetings, the subsequent preparation and filing of general meetings, the subsequent preparation and filing of statutory documents with the necessary authorities and maintaining statutory records such as members’ share registers.

Payroll Services

Together with our in-house accounting, we can prepare the weekly and monthly payrolls’ for our clients.

Taxation Services

With many years of experience taxation is one of our specialties. We prepare and submit the Tax Returns for corporations as well as individuals and have established a good relationship with the Board Of Inland Revenue.
