Description:
Under the general supervision of the Medical Officer of Health and Regional Social Worker and working as part of a multidisciplinary team providing holistic treatment care and support, the Social Worker has responsibility to conduct comprehensive social investigations in order to identify the social, emotional and economic needs of people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) and initiate appropriate case management strategies.

Qualifications:

• First Degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology or Counselling
• A minimum of two (2) years experience in the public health system
• Comprehensive knowledge of the scope and methods of social work
• Sound knowledge of the environment and community resources
• Working Knowledge of public Health systems relating to delivery of health care
• Knowledge of HIV/AIDS and related prevention, treatment, care and support
