PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
To lead the strategic development and execution of marketing, communications, and external affairs initiatives that enhance brand visibility, stakeholder engagement, and corporate reputation across Barbados.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Marketing & Brand Management
- Develop and implement integrated marketing strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
- Oversee ANSA McAL brand positioning, advertising, and promotional campaigns.
- Provide support to subsidiary marketing teams in the ideation and implementation of campaigns, upon the direction of the HoMEC.
- Manage ANSA McAL digital presence including website, social media, and content marketing.
External Affairs & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, NGOs, media, and community partners.
- Represent ANSA McAL at public forums, industry events, and stakeholder meetings.
- Lead corporate social responsibility (CSR) and social investment initiatives in Barbados.
Communications & Public Relations
- Craft and manage internal and external communications, including press releases, speeches, and crisis messaging
- Serve as media liaison and spokesperson when required
- Monitor media coverage and public sentiment, and provide weekly reports to Group External Affairs unit
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Supervise marketing support staff and/or external agencies.
- Collaborate with ANSA McAL Barbados cross-functional teams to ensure brand consistency and message alignment.
- Provide training and guidance on brand and communications best practices, if required.
Monitoring & Reporting
- Track KPIs and prepare quarterly reports on campaign performance, stakeholder engagement, and brand health.
- Recommend improvements based on analytics and market insights.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a regional or multinational context.
- Strong understanding of Barbados media and stakeholder landscape.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in digital tools (e.g., Adobe, Microsoft, Social Media Monitoring platforms).
