Manager, Internal Audit Reporting to the Audit Committee the incumbent will be required to provide objective and professional evaluations of the efficiency and effectiveness of the Company’s internal systems and controls.

Manager, Internal Audit

 The JUTC is a limited liability company incorporated under the Companies Act of Jamaica and owned by the Government of Jamaica (GOJ). Reporting to the Ministry of Energy, Telecommunications and Transport, the JUTC is the exclusive provider of public transit services in the Kingston Metropolitan Transit Region. The Company delivers public transport services seven days a week and, in some instances, up to 14 hours a day.

 We invite a dynamic, proactive and analytical thinking individual to join the JUTC as our next Manager, Internal Audit. 

CORE FUNCTIONS:

Reporting to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors, the incumbent will be required to provide objective and professional evaluations of the efficiency and effectiveness of the Company’s internal systems and controls and reports on the level of operational compliance with all policies and procedures.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS EXPERIENCE:

• Fully qualified Chartered Accountant (e.g. ACCA/CPA etc)
• Five (5) years auditing and accounting experience (3) of which should be at a senior level covering financial operational, compliance and other risk-based audits
• Experience working with electronic audit tools and methodologies
• Advanced knowledge of accounting practices and procedures
• Advanced knowledge of auditing standards, practices and procedures in both manual and computerized operating environments
• Superior understanding of computerised accounting systems and applications (ACCPAC SAGE 300)
• Sound appreciation of good governance arrangements at all levels of management
• Good knowledge of varied business processes in diverse operating environments
• Ability to manage multiple projects
• Direct, coach and mentor assigned audit staff in a performance manager role
• Excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
• Focused on probing and paying attention to detail
• Ability to exercise sound judgement in assessing findings and recommending appropriate action
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Good human relations skills and the ability to interact with all levels of management and employees

      REMUNERATION:

  Salary:  $6,333,301.00 per annum, payable monthly and related benefits.
