Flamingle Café & Bodega is a chic little café located in Valpark Shopping Plaza. We offer classic breakfast menu and scrumptious lunch/ dinner options. We are looking for a creative chef to be responsible for crafting delectable meals for dine-in and take-away customers.  You should be passionate and inspired to create melas that are consistently delicious. The ideal candidate is a poised leader who wants to cultivate an environment of growth, shares our passion for genuine hospitality, amazing food, and service. He/she must be capable of performing calmly and efficiently in a fast paced, deadline driven environment, capable of multitasking and prioritizing responsibilities. To be successful in this role, you must be well-versed in the culinary arts, a team player, customer-focused, and adhere to strict standards of hygiene and quality.

 

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring all food is of excellent quality and served in a timely manner.
  • Preparing ingredients and handling kitchen equipment
  • Developing new recipes for seasonal and promotional items
  • Decorating plates to ensure beautiful and tasteful presentation.
  • Working with the team to plan custom orders for special occasions and corporate events.
  • Monitoring the stock levels of ingredients
  • Notifying management when new supplies, ingredients, and equipment are needed.
  • Ensuring that your section of the kitchen adheres to safety and health regulations.
  • Supervising and training staff members, as needed

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Training at a culinary institution
  • 2 or more years’ experience working within the food industry.
  • Creative ability to decorate confections and other desserts.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Ongoing awareness of culinary trends.
  • In-depth knowledge of sanitation principles and food preparation.
  • Flexible working hours, including weekends, evenings/nights, and some public holidays when necessary.
  • Expert multitasking ability.
  • Exemplary work ethic in a high-pressure environment.
  • Enthusiasm for delighting people with food.
