The Accountant is responsible for providing complete, accurate and timely accounting reports and advice to Executive Management to assist with implementing and executing the strategic plans of the company in accordance with best practice accounting principles.

ACCOUNTANT

Principal Duties:

  1. Reconciliation of all bank accounts for all companies.
  2. Prepares reviews and monitors detailed plans and budgets and ensures that the Company’s financial reporting disciplines are in place and working adequately.
  3. Preparation of fixed asset register and monthly reconciliation of fixed asset registers to general ledger. Monthly reconciliation of fixed asset registers to general ledger.
  4. Maintain and reconcile all company balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
  5. Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts
  6. Maintain an efficient filing system for all financial documents ensuring that all documents are filed monthly.
  7.  Assists the Financial Controller in any duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Level II ACCA or BSc in Finance/Accounting.
  • At least five (5) years accounting experience.
  • Computer literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Working experience with a Financial Accounting package.
  • Some supervisory skills would be an asset.
  • Two (2) years working experience in the same or similar position would be an asset.

  • Seeks out new assignments and assumes additional duties when necessary.     
  • Can be relied upon regarding task completion.
