UX Researcher

The UX Researcher will propose various UX designs and workflows for our Product based on the needs of users to ensure customers have a seamless experience when using our Product.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking to recruit suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the position of UX (user experience) Researcher with MC Systems. The UX Researcher will propose various UX designs and workflows for our Product based on the needs of users to ensure customers have a seamless experience when using our Product.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supports and collaborates with product manager and engineers in developing and executing user research to ensure an optimal user experience.
• Plans and conducts user research using qualitative and quantitative methods for both in-person and remote studies; including usability and concept testing, heuristic reviews, card sorting, surveys, 1:1 interviews, persona development, contextual inquiry and secondary research.
• Synthesizes, communicates, and presents research findings, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Produces clear, concise and compelling research documents including research plans and results/report documentation.
• Clearly articulates the rationale behind research conclusions and recommendations.
• Influences product manager and software development lead/architect to use research findings and other sources to develop, refine, and prioritize product requirements.
• Facilitates collaborative design sessions, including sketching and ideation.
• Visualizes ideas in a clear form (sketch, diagram, wireframe or prototype) and provides appropriate level documentation.
• Advocates for the end user in design and development, while working with product manager, designer, and Agile developers.
• Knows how and when to leverage research and testing to inform design decisions. Collaborates on mock-ups, wire frames, and clickable prototypes for rapid, iterative testing and design improvement. Continues testing during development.
• Represents Phoenix and MC Systems in a professional manner.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & ATTRIBUTES

• Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Human Factors, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. 
• Proven work experience as a UX Researcher or similar role.
• A portfolio exhibiting strong UX and visual design skills.
• Experience implementing design choices based on user feedback.
• Experience working with designers and developers to improve the usability of products and other features.
• Additional relevant training and/or certifications as a UX Researcher.

• Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills. 
• Deep working knowledge and demonstrated practice of a wide range of research methodologies, their strengths/weaknesses, and when to apply them in the product life cycle.
• Attention to detail, ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Excellent track record in working with designers, engineers, and other team members, a collaborative and innovative spirit is must.
• Excellent written and spoken communication; presentation storytelling skills.
• Experience with user satisfaction, UX heuristics, benchmarking.
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills (English) with proven ability to effectively engage with and present to senior level executives. 
• Ability to manage needs and priorities of multiple teams and stakeholders.
