BRAND COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER –

CONTENT DEVELOPMENT & MEDIA RELATIONS

Applications are invited from persons with suitable qualifications to fill the position of “Brand Communications Officer – Content Development & Media Relations” at the Group Marketing and Communications Department.         

The jobholder is responsible for assisting with the tactical efforts of the Content Production Team by:

  • Preparing written communication for internal and external publics
  • Liaising with print and electronic media (local, regional and international) as directed by the Brand Communications Official, Content Development to enhance the Group’s image
  • Suggesting new media avenues in the pursuit of a far-reaching, effective and consistent Group image and voice

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Seeking opportunities for promotion of the Group to internal and external customers through media releases, circulars, speeches, social media platforms, Republictt.com and RepublicConnect, and relaying these opportunities to the Brand Communications Official, Content Development.   
  • Promulgating approved pieces to various channels for upload to digital channels.
  • Helping to build, maintain and improve the positive relationship that the Group enjoys with the media (local, regional and international)
  • Preparing effective communications plans, for review by the Branch Communications Official, to ensure synchronization and consistency of Group messaging.
  • Making recommendations for all social media platforms regarding publicity, visibility, and feedback during Crisis Communications
  • Consistent archiving of photos on digital drive.

GENERAL QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS:

The jobholder should have:

  • Two (2) years’ experience in newspaper and web writing/Blog writing/Social Media writing/journalism.
  • Two (2) years’ experience in Digital Creative Communication.
  • Degree/Diploma/Certificate in Mass Communication, Journalism Literature or Digital Communication
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency with emphasis on MS Word, MS Excel and Power Point

  • Strong Interpersonal, Co-ordination, Multi-tasking and Analytical skills.
  • Effective Written and Oral communication.
  • Creativity.
  • Social Media knowledge and skill.
