The Insurance Sales Agent serves as the key support to the Insurance Service Manager for ensuring that high levels of customer satisfaction are being achieved by identifying sales opportunities for insurance plans and overseeing a portfolio of clients while meeting and exceeding sales targets.

Position Summary

The incumbent is responsible for identifying risk management strategies, handling policy renewals, and tracking claims.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing and implementing effective sales and marketing strategies to sell new insurance policies or adjust existing ones.
  • Scout and identify potential clients for specific insurance packages and engages in prospecting activities by networking, cold calling, using referrals or any other innovative medium.Promote insurance agency services by preparing and presenting proposals based on client needs identification.
  • Promote financial services marketing through relationship and seminar selling and deliver winning presentations to individuals and groups.
  • Educate clients on each type of insurance coverage and make recommendations based on their needs. Identify and implement strategies to overcome client objections and close the sale.
  • Evaluate current insurance policies and recommend additional coverage when needed.
  • Complete administrative tasks including maintaining all insurance documents and handling policy renewals.
  • Recommend risk management strategies that fit clients' personal risk profiles.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on the progress of initiatives to management.
  • Achieve sales targets set be the agency.
  • Adhere to ‘Know your Customer’ requirements and all company regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Act upon arrears: contact customers to encourage/negotiate late premium payment.
  • Record customer concerns and escalate them accordingly.
  • Reactivate lapsed and surrenders (regain lost business)
  • Identify whether the customer’s circumstances have changed and provide sound advice accordingly.
  • Perform any other related duties as required by the job function.

General Qualification and Experience

Education

  • Two (2) Advanced Level/ C.A.P.E Subjects/Diploma in Management or equivalent
  • Five (5) CXC O’ Levels inclusive of Mathematics and English Language
  • Certification in TTII State License will be an asset.

Experience

  • At least three (3) years insurance sales experience or similar role

 Or any equivalent combination of qualification and experience

Technical Knowledge

  • The ability to thrive in a result-driven, high-performance sales environment.
  • Excellent Organizational , Interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good sales, telemarketing, and negotiation skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of the company's products.
  • Knowledge of Insurance Operations Processes and procedures
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of the Underwriting processes and procedures which is needed for new risks, alterations, renewals and/or cancellations to be processed in an accurate and timely manner.
