Accounting Officer

Reporting to the Cost Controller, the incumbent will be responsible for preparing and recording accounting transactions relating to the maintenance of the fixed asset register and the company bank accounts.

Reporting to the Cost Controller, the incumbent will be responsible for preparing and recording accounting transactions relating to the maintenance of the fixed asset register and the company bank accounts. He/She must provide support by analyzing financial data and assisting in preparing the annual budget and all other financial obligations of the company.

What You’ll Do

• Record fixed asset acquisitions and disposals and assigning tags to the physical assets
• Perform checks on physical assets and maintain the appropriate files of the fixed assets
• Monitor construction in progress and capitalize assets once construction is complete
• Prepare bank reconciliation, investigate, and follow up on un-booked payments and lodgements, and any other bank-related disparities
• Assist with budget preparation
• Prepare daily cash reports and assess weekly expenditures against forecasts
• Assist with the analysis of the monthly financial reports
• Prepare journal entries to aid in the preparation of the financial reports
• Prepare month-end and year-end audit schedules

What You Will Need

• ACCA Level 2 certification with 3+ years of accounting/finance experience or BSc Degree in Accounting or Finance with 3+ years of accounting/finance experience
• Excellent organizational skills
• Good Collaborative Skills
• Good knowledge of Oracle applications would be an asset
• Oral and written communication skills
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
