The Culture Coordinator is the key contact between the People & Culture department and specifically assigned locations, to work with all CBG teams to create and manage the desired company culture.

People & Culture Coordinator

The People & Culture Coordinator is the primary liaison between the P & C Department and the assigned location(s). In this capacity, the Coordinator is expected to work with the management team at the location(s) to uphold the cultural norms that have been established by the Group and to measure, document and report on their performance in this regard. As a member of the P & C team, also jointly charged with executing the department 3 year plans and expected to help coordinate with the responsible parties all recruitment, integration, training, personal development and wellness activities in addition to prioritizing the personnel administrative requests from the location(s). Being the team’s eyes and ears on the ground, the Coordinator must be in tune with the pulse of the people on the location and ensure it is healthy, resulting in increased productivity and engagement.

In terms of general administration, the People & Culture Coordinator will have the following responsibilities:

  • Dealing with personnel administrative requests under the guidance of the People & Culture Administrative Manager
  • Documenting and reporting on workplace accidents
  • Liaising with insurance brokers and loss adjusters
  • Representing the P & C Department in all disciplinary and separation hearings or meetings.
  • Administrating relevant time off policies
  • Maintaining current records and documentation in the department HRMIS, as well as updating manual filing system
  • Working closely with the leadership team to implement policies and procedures 

In terms of recruitment:

  • Vetting & approving all personnel employed to contracted service providers (eg. THC)
  • Vetting & approving on location positions (eg. Security guards, drivers, etc)
  • Preparing all paperwork and contract documentation for fixed-term employees
  • Managing the casual employment labour force within the stipulated legal timeframe

In terms of training and development:

  • Assisting with onboarding and integration of new recruits assigned to location
  • Guiding management and supervisors through the performance appraisal processes
  • Monitoring and reporting on the job training
  • Working with the Talent Development Team to develop and execute on the job training, 360° performance reviews, and any other performance management exercise as determined by the company

In terms of wellness:

  • Working with management to meet the Group’s overall wellness goals
  • Developing and executing events and activities specific to the location
  • Executing company benefit programmes and events to foster engagement & wellbeing
  • Safeguarding the social welfare of employees by escalating issues or acting as mediator as need arises

In terms of supervision:

  • Supervising the People & Culture Assistant in daily activities

 

Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years HRD experience
  • First degree from an accredited institution ideally in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or similar.
  • Intimate knowledge of Jamaican labour laws and practices
  • Good dispute resolution and negotiating experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with persons at all levels
