KEY RESULT AREAS: •Negotiate settlement of non-motor claims •Review policies to verify cover •Customers are broadly satisfied with the service delivered by GA •Meeting Departmental objectives •High degree of accuracy

DIRECT RESPONSIBILITY FOR:

  • Negotiate settlement of non-motor claims
  • Review claim forms and policies to verify coverage
  • Appoint Adjusters and follow up for reports
  • Communicate with brokers/clients for outstanding documentation
  • Review Adjusters reports, provide feedback to service providers, clients, brokers and co-insurers
  • Discuss and refer complex claims to claims supervisor
  • Notify and submit claim to Reinsurers
  • Review claims periodically to ensure adequacy of reserves and participate in the claims review process
  • Prepare settlement and payments for clients/service providers
  • Being alert to irregular practices for fraud and money laundering
  • Work Closely with the Underwriting team, providing feedback on risks improvements and moral hazards etc
  • Assist in resolving customer’s complaints in a timely manner
  • Ensuring accuracy of assigned claim files by thoroughly reviewing the data
  • Ensure timely updates to clients, provision of good customer service
  • Ensure adequacy of Reserves 
  • Prepare Claims Experiences for brokers/Internal Underwriters
  • Any other duty assigned by the Claims Manager/Supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/COMPETENCIES: 

  •  An undergraduate degree from a recognized tertiary institution and/or Insurance Diploma
  • Three (3) years’ experience working with an insurance company, financial institution or broker 
  • Good inter-personal skills, ability to deal with the public,ability to negotiate a positive outcome for both company and client
  • Above average IT familiarity and aptitude
  • Ability to function under pressure, able to multi-task
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong oral and written skills
  • Excellent communications skills (all levels of Staff) -both orally and written
