Petroleum Marketing Company seeking an HSE Advisor with experience in the retailing of petroleum products and managements of petroleum facilities. Requires a highly motivated individual with a passion for Operational Excellence with HSE principles at its core. Purpose

In collaboration with local Country management, the assigned HSE Advisor provides professional advice and assistance on all Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE) matters relevant to market operations. Is the on-site champion for the implementation of the HSSE Program at market level and implements and manages the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification for the market

Principal Accountabilities

HSE Local Champion

  • Direct responsibility for the enforcement of HSSE standards, policies, and procedures at the market level
  • Implement and manage the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification for the market
  • Ensures the organization operates within ISO and HSE best practices
  • Leads Local HSE Committee meeting and Safety Meetings to review and improve business processes

 

Inspections & Audit

  • Coordinates and leads the local markets calendar of HSSE, ISO, and Legal Compliance Audits
  • Provides onsite support and oversight of operational activity which includes maintenance and constructions works in compliance with company policies
  • Leads the close out of site remedial action plans

 

Budget & Reporting

  • Responsible for incident reporting and investigations as per company regulations
  • Prepare and manage yearly HSE Budget (for all training initiatives, PPE and other HSE items)
  • Collation and submission of monthly HSE KPIs and ISO KPIs
  • Coordinate and prepare yearly HSE and ISO Management Reviews
  • Coordinate and provide HSSE and ISO training to employees & contractors
  • Manage and update Legal Compliance Matrix for the market and maintain good working relationship with Governmental agencies.
  • Implement and manage the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification for the market
  • Provides Consultation to local Managers on managing and improving HSE practises and adherence 

Qualifications/Experience

  • Degree in an HSE related field, Science or Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an Operations environment
  • Experience in the Petroleum Industry will be an asset
  • Audit & training experience would be a definite advantage
