JOB DESCRIPTION – STORE MANAGER

 

Role:

  • The Store Manager is responsible for the general management of daily operations to ensure the positive shopping experience of customers while maintaining amicable work attitude of employees.

 

Responsibilities and Obligations:

  • To maintain high levels of staff productivity by coaching, counselling and motivating employees to function at their highest level;
  • To give clear directions and set expectations for staff;
  • To demonstrate to management and staff the ability to lead by example;
  • To be aware of current and future customer trends and to inspire staff to be customer oriented;
  • To ensure that store clerks are available;
  • To market goods using display plans and advertising along with financial statements to ensure profitability;
  • To take the requisite steps to ensure that their mathematical and accounting skills are current and remain up-to-date in order that he/she may complete orders, calculate inventory and manage cash registers;
  • To maintain stability of the Pharmacy;
  • To manage daily returns from cashiers and prepare lodgements;
  • To activate panic button to summon Formal Security Officer (when necessary);
  • To perform their responsibilities and obligations with a customer-oriented approach;
  • To give good customer service and enhance the shopping experience of every customer;
  • To participate, without reservation, in the annual stocktaking exercise;
  • To participate, without reservation, in each and every single activity in preparation or in furtherance of annual stocktaking prior to the day(s) on which stocktaking will be carried out;
  • To perform their contract of service to the best of their abilities;
  • To ensure that their actions do not prejudice the general well-being of fellow employees;
  • To abide by all the provisions contained in the Employee Handbook and Code of Conduct;
  • To not refer any Grievance or Disciplinary Proceedings to the Ministry of Labour until the procedure under the Disciplinary/Grievance Procedural Code is fully exhausted;
  • To ensure that he/she understands and observes the safety and health policies of the Pharmacy;
  • To make use of all protective equipment provided;
  • To co-operate with the Pharmacy and fellow employees in the development and implementation of all safety, health and welfare measures;
  • To maintain their assigned area in a manner that is clean and aesthetically pleasing: and
  • To perform any other duty necessary for the efficient running of the Pharmacy.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Diploma or certificate in Management;
  • 3-5 years of retail sales required (retail management experience and a college degree preferred);
  • Math skills sufficient to complete orders, calculate inventory and mange cash registers.
