OVERVIEW:

KPMG Jamaica has a delivery center named “Jamaica Extended Support Services (JESS)” operating from Kingston, which is contracted to provide back-office support to its member firm KPMG United States (“the Client”).

JOB SUMMARY:

As a part of the Data Strategy and Operations (DSO) team, the Data Strategy & Governance Analyst will be responsible for supporting the Client’s data governance team in the formation and execution of data governance framework.

You will be responsible to operate the metadata library under the leadership of the Data Strategy & Operations Manager in support of lineage, awareness, and metadata alignment of our data assets. This role also supports the implementation of the DSO  vision, raising exceptions as needed, serving as a first line resource to work with stakeholders relating to what metadata to capture, how to best capture it and how to maintain it. In this role, you will also monitor the overall quality level of the Metadata repository and work to promote its use.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with the setup, configuration and deployment of a central metadata solution (e.g. Collibra) catalog, lineage, and other value-add governance services such as Collibra workflows
• Assist the Metadata Lead to develop the metadata ontology & critical data elements (CDE) registry & content management processes and their associated measures
• Engage stakeholders to manage Collibra Data Governance Intelligence Cloud with the goal of promoting adoption and awareness
• Maintain the master list of data owners and stewards (Data Community) and manage consistent communications to this group relating to changes, challenges, and risks

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years work experience in a technical role. Candidates having prior experience with databases (e.g. database management, administration, etc.) preferred
• Experience with Python scripting, SQL, JDBC, Linux, and/or familiarity with at least one RDBMS (SQL Server, Oracle, etc.) a plus
