Primary objective of the job: 

The Head of Indirect Procurement will lead and manage all Indirect procurement activities and own the Category Plan across 25 markets. The individual will need to possess a combination of Commercial, Negotiating, Project Management and Procurement Function domain knowledge and experience. The role holder will need to think as an entrepreneur in creating commercial opportunities, leveraging market knowledge, working as a true business partner in solving problems and leading commercial deals. Confident working within a fast paced, action orientated setting, and partnering with vendors in complex, multi-million dollar and multi-year agreements in delivering value for Digicel and their customers.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maximize value for money, own key stakeholder and vendor relationships for the Indirect category across the group covering all 3rd party expenditure
• Own the creation and execution of the overall Indirect Category Plan
• Engage with the group function and local markets to deliver the best business outcomes for Digicel and its customers
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to develop forecast, plan, review and adjust procurement strategy in support of company stakeholders and use requirements
• Continuous interactions with internal stakeholders to develop savings programs that help achieve the yearly budgets
• Develop deep supplier relationships, driving better access to higher quality, along with flexibility and reliability
• Maintain effective and relevant import/export activities and support in relation to the category purchasing and distribution requirements
• Apply government requirements; understand the use of government regulations as they apply to procurement and contracting processes
• Communicate with import/export related authorities, internal and external customers in all relevant territories, as necessary to ensure efficient, positive and lawful relations and support
• Liaise with Director of Group Procurement and other members of the Procurement leadership team to deliver the wider Procurement transformation agenda

Academic Qualifications and Experience Required:

• 7+ years’ experience within a Procurement environment, with at least 2 years of people experience, ideally within an international context
• Managed large CAPEX/ OPEX 3rd party relationships, strong Vendor and contract management skills
• Ability to lead large cross functional teams across the Procurement lifecycle
• Staff management experience is essential
• Knowledge of Procurement/Supply Chain systems, processes and best practice
• Knowledge of Indirect Categories, for example Professional Services, Travel, Marketing and HR Services

• You must be willing and eager to contribute, as part of a Senior Management team, to the development of the markets in line with corporate objectives

• Ability to make excellent presentations of the financial results to the senior management team
• Previous/Current international experience will be an advantage as would experience working in a shared services environment
• Able to constructively challenge both internal stakeholders and suppliers to drive the optimum outcomes for Digicel, leveraging both your domain experience and personal approach
