To assist with the development and execution of the VM Group’s strategies in relation to publicity, public relations, social media, internal communications and corporate affairs.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the Corporate Affairs, Communications & Change leadership team with the execution of external and internal communications for the VM Group
  • Work in tandem with the Corporate Affairs, Communications & Change leadership, to design and execute internal communications and media relations projects including plan creation, research, content development, writing, editing, securing approvals and distribution
  • Propose and execute along with the Corporate Affairs, Communication & Change leadership, an internal Communications programme aimed at improving staff interaction, staff adoption and enhancing staff relations and communication
  • Develop financial communications materials to support all the business lines within the VM Group
  • Implement the approved public/media relations plans and develop related press materials, including news releases, articles, media lists and executive profiles for traditional and social media
  • Support in the maintenance and expansion of relationships with key members of the media, including responding to inquiries and pitching news developments
  • Foster strong relationships with news/financial/business media contacts
  • Coordinate media interviews geared at promoting the VM Group and the available offerings for Senior Management and subject matter experts based on the approved media strateg
  • Monitor local and international news media, editorial calendars, articles/reports, social media, blogs, etc. about VM Group and its competitors 
  • Create and distribute a monthly media report to inform number of media pickups and dollar value of visibility received by the Group
  • Create articles regarding the progress of the VM Group and its accomplishments and ensure they receive visibility to the various media outlets resulting in publicity for the institution
  • Create monthly social media posting schedule to support marketing/public relations/promotional campaigns and/or initiatives aimed at Member/customer/general public engagement
  • Garner media coverage for special events, supporting the handling of press conferences, media briefings and special events
  • Draft show-flows, speakers’ guides for VM Group events for approval by the CAC leadership.
  • Support crisis communications in conjunction with corporate communications 
  • Prepare and dispatch fact sheets, information bulletins, news releases and photographs, scripts, motion pictures or tape recordings to Team Members and media representatives
  • Maintain knowledge of local news outlets and regional/media/social media in the Jamaican Diaspora
  • Monitor, review, maintain and update the Group’s Intranet to ensure relevance, accuracy and currency of the information held on the site
  • Monitor, review, develop content and carry out updates the Group websites as required
  • Monitor and support in the management of VM Group’s social media channels Facebook, Twitter, IG, LinkedIn, Blogs and other exposures as required
  • Supervise the activities of internal and external service providers, such as printers, graphic artists, photographers, etc. as necessary to accomplish designated tasks/projects
  • Prepare/coordinate the production/layouts of copy, audio and digital, and other promotional material as necessary
  • Coordinate and track all sponsorship activities including declines, check request, invitations, attendee lists, program book placements and other recognition, giveaways, executive participation (example: event brief, talking points etc.)
  •  Work closely with key stakeholders to execute signature Corporate Social Responsibility Programmes
  • Travel and represent the VM Group at designated events
  • Perform any other duties which may be assigned from time to time 

MINIMUM EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications or related field 

MINUMUM EXPERIENCE

  • Three (3) years practical experience in the field of Public Relations, Communications, Production and Digital Media
