Maintenance Technician

Massy Gas Products (Jamaica) Limited, the leading supplier of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and a fully-owned subsidiary of the Massy Group with operations across the English-speaking Caribbean, seeks to fill the post of Maintenance Technician.

Job Purpose

To carry out the installation and maintenance of LPG/LNG equipment at Commercial/Industrial sites and on bulk road transport units, in accordance with all current Company policies, procedures and standards.  

Main Responsibilities

• Write and successfully implement a maintenance program.
• Update maintenance software with actions completed to ensure all reports are accurate and complete.
• Carry out LPG/LNG Bulk Installation and maintenance under the guidance and supervision of the Commercial/Project Engineer.
• Conduct daily, weekly and monthly maintenance checks on the Bulk installations equipment and LPG Equipment on Bulk Road Transport Units
• Carry out repairs to LPG Equipment of Bulk Customer sites and Bulk Road Transport Units.
• Maintain piping and tanks systems to ensure functionality and high integrity – from Painting to NDT.
• Assist in Offloading Bulk transportation
• Create job planning/estimate and assist in budget preparation.

The successful candidate will report to the Commercial/Project Engineer.  This position will be based at the company’s office in Rockfort, Kingston.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or equivalent, with five (3-5) years’ experience in a similar position.

Competencies:

• Strong troubleshooting abilities in both mechanical and electrical systems
• Customer focused
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair/service pumps, compressors, standby generators, etc.
  • Able to carry out thorough inspection of systems, processes and equipment and provide report.
  • Ability to effectively use hand tools and deliver high quality work.
  • Highly proficient in the fabrication and installation of metal pipework.
  • High level of safety awareness.
  • Able to read and understand equipment manuals and instructions.
