Job Title: Group Safety Health Environment Quality Intern

 

Primary objective of the job:

  • An intern with SHEQ assists environmental health and safety professionals in ensuring compliance with environmental, safety, and worker injury regulations. You may work as part of an inspection or audit team and support the process by completing administrative tasks such as filling out a Safety Data Sheet (SDS) and assisting in the evaluation of a workplace, or you may perform data entry and reporting

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implement, Monitor SHEQ Programs, which is inclusive of training/inductions.
  • Assist with reporting and investigation but not limited to incident, accident and property damage and property loss
  • Assisting with the day-to-day operation of the safety management system for support of the company’s stakeholders, shareholder, clients and customers.
  • Assist SHEQ personnel with administration of Digicel’s Safety Health Environmental and Quality program and compliance audits
  • The intern will assist Safety Managers for various projects
  • Assist with updating and formatting of SHEQ policies and procedures
  • Compiling data and providing input to client reports and programs
  • Assisting in investigation of incidents including root cause analyses, assisting in the development of corrective actions and documentation of results
  • Edit and contribute to corporate SHEQ Digital Operating Mediums
  • Developing and delivering SHEQ programs, training and assists with the fulfilment of compliance duties by ensuring that programs, training, emergency drills, and other activities are performed on time
  • Assists in safety meetings and participates in them
  • Conducts in occupational safety surveys/inspections
  • Providing SHEQ program compliance support by maintaining SHEQ up to date compliance material, reports and logs (e.g. permits, fees, OSHA logs, training records)
  • Understand and comply with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other industry specific professional and ethical conduct standards, if applicable
