Gift Shop Retail Manager

 

JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Hotel Manager, the Gift Shop Retail Manager is responsible for the leadership, management and coordination of all aspects of the Gift Shop Associates and their respective functions. This includes financial results, maintaining consistent high-quality deliverables and service driven standards. As a Gift Shop Retail Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the overall success of gift shop operations. This includes adhering to the culture and guidelines, the Hotel's regulations, and company’s standards, policies, and expectations of quality, creativity and presentation. This position also motivates, trains, develops and directs all associates to accomplish the objectives of the operation to the satisfaction of the customers, and maintains a working relationship with the customers.

 

Core Work Activity & Preferred Qualifications:

  • Directs associates to provide scheduled retail services.
  • Trains staff in customer service, proper portioning, cashier skills, and safety/sanitation.
  • Completes all daily, weekly or monthly reports on a timely basis meeting all prescribed deadlines.
  • Implements and maintains cash handling standards eliminate theft of services or Company funds.
  • Implements and promotes green initiatives.
  • Responsible for inventory control and marketing of the gift shop.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction and good public relations marketing through the safe and efficient uses of resources.
  • Makes sure all QA and sanitation standards are maintained on a daily basis.
  • Oversees the daily administrative and operational tasks, including financial management and analysis, sanitation, and safety.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 Qualifications:

  • A College Degree; Minimum of 3 years management experience in this position 
  • Experience with cash retail operations.
  • Retail marketing experience is preferred.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of financial, budgetary, accounting and computational practices.
  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet.
