Learning & Development Specialist/Officer

 

Core Responsibilities:

 

The Learning & Development Officer plays a crucial role in the execution of HGS Talent Management and business development strategy.  In this role, the officer will drive best-in class practices for learning to develop a cadre of talented, impactful, performing and effective employees.  The individual will conduct needs analysis to identify critical areas of skills development for the organization and design and deliver instructional materials to address these needs. 

 

Essential Functions:

Conduct training needs analysis and define learning goals for staff development.

Design and deliver training sessions to address critical needs of first level managers and support staff.

Design and deliver development experiences for agents/associates to transition into support roles.

Conduct training sessions to facilitate the development of Customer service skills across the business.

Design, develop, implement and maintain Talent Development initiatives as well as learning content in order to address business challenges.

Evaluate the effectiveness of Talent Development initiatives and recommend modifications.

Participate in business development by identifying new opportunities for talent management and organizational development.

Manage records for talent development initiatives.

Coordinate Learning experiences for staff.

Manage correspondences and records for Learning & Development initiatives such as Schedules and invitation, Attendance Logs Training Evaluation & Reports

 

Academic Qualifications and Experience required for the job:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited College/University in Education, Adult Learning, Curriculum Design and Organizational Development or other related field.

At least 2 years of relevant work experience related to Learning & Development including instructional design, curriculum development, performance assessment and classroom delivery.

Experience in designing and leading initiatives, leading practices in organizational development, learning & development, evaluation and change management.

Experience managing a portfolio of activities within a project or team and balancing competing deadlines.

Experience mentoring or managing employees in performance review and discussing career opportunities.

Experience in Supervisory Management.

Strong communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
