Solar Project Engineer-(Open to Caricom Nationals)

Job Overview

The role of the Solar Project Engineer is to bring renewable energy solutions to our clients and will be tasked to collaborate with other engineers and designers on the development of photovoltaic (PV) technologies, such as solar panel arrays and solar power systems

Qualification

  • A BSc in Electrical Engineering (BSEE/BSEET) from an accredited university.
  • 3-5 years minimum experience in the solar PV industry designing solar systems.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
  • Advanced experience and knowledge in the design, construction and distribution process for commercial solar PV, and residential lithium battery solar PV projects.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and solar modelling tools.
  • Proven experience reading and understanding technical specifications and construction documents.
  • Experience with professional oral and written communication skills.
  • Hands on knowledge and skill working with solar equipment and installation standards/methods (string and micro inverters, batteries, panels, racking etc.)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee Installation of residential and commercial solar/renewable roof/ground mounted systems
  • Conduct site feasibility analysis and design of energy storage
  • Install, programme, commission and maintain various solar systems-(grid tie, Lithium and lead variants) for residential and commercial properties
  • Write and present residential and commercial proposals.
  • Manipulate energy data to design a grid tied or battery solar system.
  • Assist with cost estimates, preliminary project analysis, drafting of material list for sub-contractors for each project.
  • Participate in the contractor/vendor selection process with a specific goal of assessing engineering experience, competencies and capability.
  • Research and evaluate solar system components including inverters, batteries, panels, racking, etc.
  • Support CEO and internal teams with technical feedback.
