Operations Officer (Barbados)

Core Functions:

•	Provide operational support to the trading desk while ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, regulations and service standards.
•	Confirm and settle all asset & money market trades effected by the traders ensuring that all loans, deposits and investments with other banks and institutions are accurately processed and all maturities/interest received/paid on due date.
•	Monitor bank accounts in conjunction with the traders to assist in managing the organization's liquidity position.
•	Monitor the custody & detailed records of investment instruments.
•	Maintenance of detailed records of assets and liabilities as well as interest accruals of all loans, deposits and other investments relating to asset & money market trades and ensure the accuracy of the bank's daily trading and inter-bank activities as it relates to asset and money market transactions.
•	Monitor investment portfolios ensuring that interest is collected on the due date and securities are redeemed on maturity date.
•	Effectively handle customer requests (including payments), received and enter orders, identify and resolve problems in order to meet the needs of our customers in a courteous and professional manner.
•	Proactively provide a consistent and reliable customer experience and promote the retention of customer base.
•	Maintain client data using the core application

Qualifications and Experience:

•	Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or any quantitative field of study.
•	At least four (4) years’ working experience in the securities industry.
•	Experience in a settlements position or back office operations would be an asset
