RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Designing and implementing network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks;
  • Installing, configuring, documenting, and supporting network equipment and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS, SD-WAN);
  • Procuring network equipment and managing subcontractors involved with network installation;
  • Configuring firewalls, routing, and switching to maximise network efficiency and security;
  • Periodically reviewing the network for security vulnerabilities and implementing appropriate protection measures;
  • Maximising network performance through ongoing monitoring, troubleshooting and capacity planning;
  • Maintaining and upgrading technical systems or offer recommendations on upgrades;
  • Investigating faults in the network and updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases;
  • Coordinating maintenance with other IT professionals and users;
  • Assisting in the examination and maintenance of server rooms and devices;
  • Testing and demonstrating new software and technology to increase productivity;
  • Maintaining up to date documentation of the network infrastructure;
  • Performing any other related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A BSc in Computer Science or a similar discipline;
  • Fortinet NSE 4, CCNA or other similar certification;
  • CISP certification would be an asset;
  • The ability to work flexible hours;
  • At least three (3) years of experience in a similar role;
  • Experience with Fortinet and Cisco hardware/software;
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools;
  • Experience and knowledge of LAN/WAN, IP Voice communications;
  • Server management experience covering Windows and Linux.
