Responsible for the procurement of goods and services on behalf of the organization and the supervision of the Security Officers and Ancillary staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES & COMPETENCIES

 

  • Receive all monthly utility bills, prepare the required requisitions and forward to the Accounts Department for payment. Update the relevant spread sheet to reflect payment of all utility bills;
  • Monitor the Manufacturer Credit Information Services cards each month. Periodically log into the system to verify the amount of petrol being used by each vehicle in relation to the assigned allotment for the vehicle;
  • Ensure that scheduled maintenance is done as required in a staggered manner on JNHT’s fleet vehicles; Ensure that the Certificates of Fitness, Insurance Policies and Vehicle Registrations are always up to date;
  • Manage service contracts for services such as: Sanitary Services, Pest Control and Photocopiers while ensuring that they are in effect and service delivery is in accordance with Service Level Agreements;
    • Investigate, compare and negotiate prices for the procurement of the goods, services and works to ensure that the JNHT is obtaining the best quality at the most competitive price and credit terms;
    • Ensure that the Department’s output conforms to JNHT’s policies and guidelines as well as acceptable standards and practices; 
    • Direct the preparation and maintenance of reports as are necessary, to carry out the functions of the department, as well as prepare periodic reports to the management team as required;
    • Provide leadership, guidance, support and control to direct reports in order to ensure that they are appropriately motivated and trained in order to carry out their responsibilities to the required standards;
    • Develop and monitor work schedules and or programmes to ensure the effective utilization of direct reports to accomplish the Department’s objectives.
    • Participate in the JNHT’s Strategic Planning process – prepare and monitor the department’s operational plan and budget ensuring the functions of the department are executed according to plan and agreed targets achieved.
    • See to the welfare and development of direct reports through the preparation of performance appraisals and recommendation of required training and development programmes.
    • Excellent written, oral and presentation skills.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

 · Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or Management Studies or equivalent from a recognized tertiary                 institution.

 

· Five (5) years experience in a similar capacity.
