Manager, Strategic Planning

 

The Radio Frequency Spectrum is the medium which facilitates wireless communication.  The Spectrum Management Authority (SMA) is the regulatory body responsible for the efficient management of the radio frequency spectrum in Jamaica, which includes licensing spectrum users and regulating their use of the spectrum.

 The SMA is seeking to identify a highly motivated, dynamic individual to fill the post of Manager, Strategic Planning.

 Responsibilities

The Manager, Strategic Planning conducts environmental forecast and analyses to facilitate the planning towards the organization achieving its vision, mission and goals. Principal duties include: 

  • Assist in the preparation of the Strategic and Operational Plans for the Authority.
  • Plans and organizes strategic planning review meetings with Directors and Managers.
  • Collects and collates business and operational data for planning purposes.
  • Facilitate the establishment of key performance indicators (KPIs) for the SMA.
  • Review related Enterprise Risks Management for planning purposes.
  • Liaise with industry stakeholders to analyze trends in the telecommunication sector for planning purposes.
  • Assist in analyzing unusual or complex telecommunications issues and making suitable recommendations.

 Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Economics,  Finance, Business Administration.
  • At least five (5) years’ experience in Strategic Planning and Research, two of which should be at a senior level.
  • Understanding of the Jamaican wireless communication environment.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems and standards.
  • Knowledge of corporate planning and research.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and forecasting skills.
