Job description:

Primary objective of the job: 

As part of the digital transformation project team for Digicel, the VAS Service Development Engineer will be responsible for analysing, preparing, implementing and verifying the configuration and integration of a node, network and/or system. Responsible for developing new products and promotions configuration across charging and services environments to meet business / Commercial requirements.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plan the implementation of the product configuration / integration work
• Execute product configuration
• Execute integration and migration work of new OSS/BSS solution
• Prepare system test, modular testing and accept test covering commercial deliverables and vendor integrations
• You will work to identify and drive improvements
• Produce High-Level and Low-Level Designs (HLD / LLD) and develop and implement a Method of Procedure (MOP) for numerous network functions
• Have E2E technical understanding across mobile networks including 3G, 4G and 5G – with emphasis on the following functions: HSS-FE, HLR-FE, BSS, Provisioning and other related functions
• Work closely with the Core team to translate the customer need and technology opportunities into detailed technical offerings, solutions and proposals
• Troubleshoot of nodes, network functions and/or systems to help isolate and rectify complex faults in the network
• Work closely with Solution Architects and Project Managers to drive upgrades, new implementations and delivery improvements
• Provide ongoing technical support / consultancy to our customer (post project activities)
• Developing new products and promotions configuration across charging and services Platforms
• Timely rollout of new product across all markets
• Ensure specifications and product requirements meet group/local markets needs
• Using knowledge and deep understanding of existing solutions and system components to integrate and design solutions that minimize the level of custom SW development required
• Provide support and guidance to Technology and Commercial teams in Group and Markets
• Provide planning, design and implementation across Access networks, Core Service and Service Layer
• Analyze business requirements to develop technical network solutions and framework.
• Defining processes for Products, Services and Support structure to bring-in efficiency and cost control.
• Configure products and promotions across different technologies and business lines for an end to end solution that satisfies related business requirements

Academic qualifications and experience required:

• B.Sc. Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Engineering or Computer Science, Software Engineering and Master’s degree will be an additional asset
• Azure/AWS Cloud System Certifications a good to have
• Linux Admin and Programming background is good to have
• Exposure of Linux/UNIX and DBs with hand on experience of 5+ Years
• 5+ years working experience with IN, VAS, OSS/BSS, Cloud
• Experience with Core Charging and Policy Control Protocols (CAMEL, CS1+, Gy, Gx, Sy, Ro, SIP, INAP)
• Experience from technical job roles is required such as configuration and design of product offers
• Excellent understanding of charging, diameter protocols and scripting skills
• EMM (Ericsson Multi Mediation) batch and integration with other BSS systems
• Knowledge of Network Functions Virtualization and NFV infrastructure
• Good communication skills and pro-active attitude to deliver results & meet customer’s expectations
• Analytical learning and researching skills; proficient planning and organizing skills to ensure achievements are met
