IR Generalist KGN
The IR Generalist will be responsible for the managing and coordinating the Industrial Relations within the organization to ensure the promotion of good labour practices and to ensure a harmonious working environment for all employees
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance
• Investigates disciplinary and grievance cases
• Manage the disciplinary and grievance process and procedure
• Provides advice and services on grievances and disciplinary hearings to ensure procedural and substantive fairness in applying the HR policy and procedures
• Conduct and or represent the company at Disciplinary Hearings as needed
• Drafts responses to queries relating to Industrial Relations matters
• Explains industrial relations policies and grievances procedures to staff as required
• Create timely and reliable Industrial and Employee Relations dashboards for HR Manager, Operations and line management
• Counsels and guides staff on work-related issues in order to enhance employee morale
• Assists with the development, implementation and maintenance of Human Resources policies, procedures, guidelines, and programs.
• Process complaints regarding employee grievances and assist in any necessary investigations and disciplinary actions
• Facilitate the preparation and submission of documents in an effort to resolve grievances and industrial disputes
• Arrange and conduct investigation meeting and raft Investigation reports
• Arranges and confirms meetings between grieving parties, supervisory and management personnel to investigate and resolve grievances
• Participates in matters relating to discipline and grievances with a view to arriving at amicable settlements
• Assist with other HR projects, HR operations and support HR Manager as needed
• Ensures the collection of relevant data, and the submission of disciplinary and personnel matters to the respective staff
• Process all disciplinary matters
• Prepares reports on meetings
• Performs any other duties that may be assigned
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Minimum of three (3) years Human Resources related work experience in an Industrial Relation position
• Course of Training in Industrial Relations at a recognised institution
• Considerable knowledge of existing industrial legislation, industrial agreements, the Civil Service Act and regulations, the Statutory Authorities Act and other related Acts and Regulations
• Considerable knowledge of the principles and techniques of handling trade disputes and grievances

• Good knowledge of Labour Laws and Industrial Relations practices
• Computer Literate in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
