To efficiently support the management of NIPDEC’s financial resources and effectively supervise the accounting function in the Finance department.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Review periodically the systems of accounting for all project transactions.
  • Monitor and report on project related restricted cash
  • Provision of information to support the financial reporting of project related transactions in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards
  • Participate and contribute to the entire project life cycle, from planning to executing to close out stage.
  • Review project costings to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Ensure proper filing of ALL project related documentation.
  • Provide final approval of the monthly reconciliation of the Work in Progress accounts. 
  • Provide information on project status for all active projects on a monthly basis to facilitate any project accounting adjustments to billings, revenue recognition and contractor cost.
  • Assist in the preparation of miscellaneous project reports.
  • Assist in the selection of appropriate training for Junior Staff
  • Perform tender evaluations
  • Provide support in project related queries during the external audit of the financial statements. 
  • Provide the financial compliance reports required under PURE and any other project related Memorandum of Understanding agreement.
  • Supervise the timely completion of all project related payments
  • Approve supplier statement reconciliations for project related contractors
  • Perform any other related duties as may be required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimum Requirements:

  • ACCA, CIMA qualified or post graduate degree in Finance, Accounting or Management
  • A minimum of five (5) years experience in the field of accounting at a supervisory level.
  • Project Accounting experience would be considered an asset.
  • Any equivalent combination of qualification and experience.

Special Skills and Knowledge:

  • Extensive, in depth and current knowledge of best accounting practices and procedures.
  • Considerable knowledge of modern management techniques and practices.
  • Knowledge of relevant accounting software and, in particular, Microsoft Dynamics SL v. 2015
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office software applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to function effectively as a member and team leader within the Finance Department and Management teams.
  • Ability to exercise mature judgement and discretion in making challenging job decisions and in interpreting company policies and procedures.

  • Ability to craft and produce solutions to ad hoc requests as needed
