JOB SUMMARY:

The Technical Advisor will be a senior leader on the new Flour Mill Project and will provide operational guidance and expertise to the Operations Manager, Production Manager and Project Manager for this project and on other matters and projects as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

The New Flour Mill project requires a leader who brings a high level of technical expertise along with outstanding executive leadership capability, command, influence, and the emotional intelligence required to navigate stakeholders from varying countries and social levels.

  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Consult with and assist the CEO regarding the new flour mill project:
  • Scope of responsibilities on the mill project include design review, equipment installation, testing and commissioning, and contract administration.

Electrical

Mill Equipment

  • Review electrical designs and drawings provided by mill equipment supplier
  • Verify the adherence to local electrical standards
  • Work along with the equipment supplier’s technical team to oversee equipment installation 

New Mill Building

  • Design the electrical circuit for the lighting and service outlets according to building electrical scope
  • Determine the specifications for materials to be procured
  • Verify the adherence to local electrical standards
  • Prepare electrical drawings for the contractor
  • Prepare tender documents for electrical contractor selection
  • Assist with the selection of contractors
  • Work along with electrical contractor to oversee the electrical installation
  • Ensure that the Mill project is completed within budget and on schedule while achieving the utmost quality in accordance with the specifications.
  • Provide regular updates to the Project Manager and CEO.

Plant Technology and Production

Technology

  • Lead the capital projects and business planning specific to milling and bottling to enhance the overall profitability of the manufacturing plants.
  • Partner with interdepartmental stakeholders to provide manufacturing inputs into product design.
  • Consult on engineering activities to ensure compliance with legislation, professional, ethical and HSE standards.

Strategy & Execution

  • Build business cases, set goals, adhere to capital and operating budgets, and manage metrics.
  • Lead the implementation of systems to build quality into the manufacturing of the product. Set and strive for goals pertaining to cost of quality and first-pass yield.
  • Analyze processes and operations at the micro and macro levels followed by implementing high-impact improvements for safety and quality that reduce unit cost and accelerate throughput.
  • Provide advice to the Project Manager, Operations Manager, and Production Manager.
  • Direct initiatives and strategies that deliver cost-effective, high-quality, operational performance that produces the development of the Company’s products.

Executive Leadership

  • Advice the CEO on Capital Projects and major Repairs & Maintenance projects from initiation to completion.
  • Create a culture of continuous improvement. Engage employees, promote empowerment, and lead change.
  • Lead the execution of Change Controls as related to Manufacturing -- New Product Introduction, New Technology introduction, Process Changed.

Safety:

  • Maintain a commitment to a high standard of safety, comply with all safety laws and regulations, safety policies, and report actual and potential safety violations to appropriate supervisory or management personnel to further ECGCs core value of safety.
  • Perform any other related duties as may be assigned.

  

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Master’s degree or bachelor’s degree in either Industrial, Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related field with emphasis in Operation Management or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • At least ten (10) years’ Leadership experience in manufacturing, technology, construction
  • Experience in Project Management or prior professional advisory experience with a focus on manufacturing, milling, food, technology.
  • Strong knowledge and applied experiences in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
  • Must have a solid knowledge of manufacturing quality systems, the engineering development process, and certification requirements.
  • Must be process-oriented and a disciple of continuous improvement (CI), with a proven track record of implementing and leading CI initiatives in a production environment.
  • Must be results-oriented, extremely organized, and have the ability to make data-driven decisions to deliver results under pressure in a complex environment.
  • Must have strong financial skills and be able to establish and manage budgets, estimate costs and lead times and evaluate financial criteria effectively.
  • Skill analyzing statistics and reports to determine business performance and trends and develop action plans.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate cross-functionally, partnering with stakeholders to drive business performance.
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to prepare, and present to varied audiences.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered
