Job Objective:

 

To assist the Pharmacist with the pharmaceutical operations at the Warehouse.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Inform the Pharmacist of re-ordering of all pharmaceuticals.

 

  • Work alongside the Inventory Clerk for stock verification, stock card generation and stock rotation.

 

  • Assist in receipt of goods on the floor and verify stock against the transmittals in the absence of the Pharmacist or Supervisor.

 

  • Assist with the efficient distribution of stock under the supervision of the Pharmacist.

 

  • Investigate and resolve pharmaceutical stock discrepancies.

 

  •  Filing of transmittals.

 

  • Liaise with Pharmacist regarding screening and prioritization of Picking Slips ensuring that they are processed according to date and urgency.

 

  • Double checking orders before they are sent to institutions under the supervision of the pharmacist.

 

  • Liaise with other Supervisors for delivery of items

 

  • Liaise with Hospital and Health Centre staff regarding receipt, dispatch and queries of goods.

 

  • Provide timely information regarding current stock levels, short expiries and consumption patterns to the Pharmacist

 

  • Transfer written request into requisition book.

 

  • Assist with rotation of stock, random stock checks, appropriate storage of temperature-sensitive medicines.

 

  • Receiving stock and verifying against transmittals.

 

  • Preparation of stock cards

 

  • Receipt of returned stock from institutions

 

  • Perform any other related duties as necessary.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

  • Minimum of five (5) O’ Level subjects, including English and Mathematics.
  • Possession of a Pharmacy Assistant Certificate from the recognized body.
  • Registration with Pharmacy Board of Trinidad and Tobago.
  • Computer Literate (Microsoft excel, word.)
  • A minimum of three (3) years experience in a warehousing environment will be an asset.
  • Any equivalent combination of qualifications and experience.

 

 

Special Skills and Knowledge:

 

  • Knowledge of warehousing computer systems and its related processes.

 

  • Basic knowledge of pharmaceuticals and the public health care system will be beneficial.

 

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.

 

  • Adequate supervisory skills.

 

  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
